lay your weary head to rest
Feb. 19th, 2012 01:41 amI have been watching Supernatural on Netflix, and I'm remembering that I actually did like it back then. We will see what happens when I get to season 3 because that's when I initially stopped watching. I really thought I was going to rewatch the first 2 seasons and be like WHY DID I LOVE THIS SHOW AGAIN!? But I am actually like ...no, yeah, I totally see why I liked this show! I am really looking forward to when Castiel shows up. I've heard there is joy.
with the podfic
Feb. 14th, 2012 09:32 pmYou guy, YOU GUYS. One of my Firefly fics was PODFICCED. It's my fic, Looking In, and it's a Mal/Simon from Kaylee's perspective. It's probably one of my non-bandom favorites that I've written, and you can find
fire_juggler's great podfic here, with a bunch of other podfics. Her Kaylee voice is so so great, and I am so ecstatic with it! You guys should go check out the post, even if you're not into Firefly. There's lots of fandoms, including bandom!

I love love love my new Phone. Does anyone have any app suggestions? Is there one that you can't live without? I am trying out a few. I have tO get ready for school soon. Tuesday is actually the worst day for me. It's just so long. But I will survive it I suppose.
Also supernatural is on Netflix now so I think I am going to get caught up on that. I have nothing else to say.

My favorite thing about DW so far is the importing. I have an old Lj that I used before the one I have now, and I was able to import all of the entries from both journal, so that they're all in one place now! That's good for my organizational brain.
Also, I think I've friended (is that the proper term here?) everyone over here that is using dw. If I missed you, please let me know! I haven't really decided how I'm going to approach reading my flist, but I imaging I'll check my reading list here and then check my friends list on Lj. I'll definitely keep up with both because I don't want to loose touch with the people who aren't moving - and I still have all of my landcomms plus bbb (which is up and running!)over on Lj.
I am distressed at no mood icons, but the 15 user pics isn't really bothering me ....yet.

thoughts of thinking
Jan. 22nd, 2012 05:29 pmI am sort of confused by all of the options on dreamwidth (grant access, subscribe, whatever), and honestly that's always been one of my biggest problems with it. I treat my friends list as just that - a friends list; it's a list of people I enjoy being around and interacting with and want to be friends with. A "reading" list full of people who can follow me while not allowing me to follow them and vice versa feels way less personal to me, and I just don't like it.
Also not having a ton of icons. The thing that may keep me going back to Lj is that I DO have a permanent account, and while their attitude towards their user base frustrates and angers me ...I have 200+ icons, and I get all of the storage and features without having to constantly throw money at them. And I have thrown a lot of it. I had the money back then. I don't know if I have it in me to pour hundreds of dollars into another site that's really just a back up for me - a consolation prize so to speak. It doesn't feel the same. Maybe it eventually will but not just now.
I don't know. Just thinking thoughts or whatever.
Also can you install mood themes here? And how?

Jan. 22nd, 2012 03:12 amMy comment to lj on their most recent snafu is here.
It is in response to a quote in an article: "LiveJournal's leadership has made it clear that their future American business strategy lies in generating new traffic rather than catering to the service's current small-but-loyal membership."
This quote not only exists, but Lj linked to the article on their homepage. They are essentially bragging that they don't give a shit about the people who have been pouring money into the site and their pockets for years. This bothers me as a consumer. I don't love dreamwidth, but this is the first thing that has ever had me seriously doubting whether or not I want to stay on this site. Before I had some faith that they knew what they were doing and would try to keep both incoming and old users happy. Now it's abundantly clear that they don't really care about us.

Note to the people participating in this:
You are not going to hurt the CEOs you are trying to fight. They are going to get paid. Do you have any idea who you ARE going to hurt? The people who work part time at the theaters and in the stores. They're going to start getting fired and laid off when their stores aren't making any money. You're going to hurt the every day, average joes and the people who work behind the scenes and get paid minimal salaries. Because at the end of March when sales are way way down from the quarter? The CEOs are going to say oh man, we didn't make any money and I want mine because HE IS THE CEO. You're not hurting him. You're hurting people who are working shitty jobs to feed their families. The people who have nothing to do with and NO SAY IN SOPA.
Congratulations.
eta: I just want to say that I am speaking from experience. I work retail, and when we have a low volume month my managers and everyone higher up gets their money. I, however, get cut to one four hour day a week, which at a little above minimum wage is not enough to live on.

ohohstarryeyed wanted teacher/student porn, and this happened. It's unbetaed and stuff. Sorry. I don't write porn for a reason.
warnings: barebacking, perceived sexual relationship between a teacher and a student, rough sex (scratching, biting, and the like), lack of a plot completely evident.

Jan. 14th, 2012 02:18 amI finally posted my fic up on AO3! I got all of my public bandom fic up there and some of my favorite that I wrote in HP and QaF fandom. I'll get some of my older bandom fic as well as more HP, QaF and lots of fics from Firefly and VM and other fandoms up at some point in time. I'm excited!
