......who feels the need to take a break from an increasingly dysfunctional relationship.

Note to the people participating in this:

You are not going to hurt the CEOs you are trying to fight. They are going to get paid. Do you have any idea who you ARE going to hurt? The people who work part time at the theaters and in the stores. They're going to start getting fired and laid off when their stores aren't making any money. You're going to hurt the every day, average joes and the people who work behind the scenes and get paid minimal salaries. Because at the end of March when sales are way way down from the quarter? The CEOs are going to say oh man, we didn't make any money and I want mine because HE IS THE CEO. You're not hurting him. You're hurting people who are working shitty jobs to feed their families. The people who have nothing to do with and NO SAY IN SOPA.

Congratulations.

eta: I just want to say that I am speaking from experience. I work retail, and when we have a low volume month my managers and everyone higher up gets their money. I, however, get cut to one four hour day a week, which at a little above minimum wage is not enough to live on.

I work in a bakery cafe, and when the Borders in our shopping area closed down, the loss of foot traffic killed us. Hours got cut, people were sent home early, and the store managers received unpleasant letters from our corporate headquarters halfway across the country saying, "Why aren't you selling anything? What'd you do wrong?"

It wasn't a question of whether the CEO of the company would take any losses or not, but whether our store would be able stay open. Fortunately we reminded them about Borders and we're all okay, but it was scary for a few weeks there.

Bottom line: I agree. Good principle, bad idea.

Your ETA SO MUCH! Ugh. I totally know how that is. And I totally don't support Black March AT ALL!
